Dog Sitting — Bexleyheath
Dog sitting in Bexleyheath
Someone your dog already knows — looking after them in their own home while you're away.
The problem with most dog sitting arrangements is that they involve putting your dog somewhere unfamiliar with someone they've never met. For a lot of dogs, that's genuinely stressful. They don't understand why they're somewhere different, they don't know the person, and they spend the time anxious rather than relaxed.
Our dog sitting service in Bexleyheath works differently. We start with a meet and greet so your dog already knows us before the first sit. Then, when the time comes, we come to your home — not the other way around. Your dog stays in the environment they know, with the smells they recognise, in the space they're comfortable in. We keep their routine as close to normal as possible and keep you updated throughout.

For a lot of dogs — particularly anxious dogs, older dogs, or dogs closely bonded to their owner — this makes all the difference. A dog that's settled and calm while you're away is better for everyone.

How it works
Meet and greet
Before any sitting begins, we meet you and your dog. We go through everything — feeding times, walk schedule, medications, where they sleep, what they're allowed to do and what they're not. The more we know, the better we can look after them. And importantly, your dog gets to meet us in a relaxed, pressure-free context before we're ever there without you.
Sitting visits — in your home
We come to your home for the agreed visits — daytime, evening, or overnight depending on what you need. We stick to your dog's routine as closely as possible: same feeding times, same walk schedule, same rules. We give them proper company and attention, not just a quick check-in.
Regular updates
You hear from us throughout. A message to say we've arrived, a photo or two during the visit, a note on how they're doing. You shouldn't have to sit there wondering whether everything's okay — we make sure you know.

Why ScoopAtroop
Why in-home sitting works better for many dogs
Kennels and boarding facilities work well for some dogs. But for others — particularly dogs that are anxious, elderly, highly bonded to their home environment, or used to being the only dog in a household — a completely new environment can be more stressful than the owner being away.
In-home sitting removes the environmental change entirely. Your dog stays where they feel safe. There are no unfamiliar smells, no strange dogs to navigate, no settling-in period. They're in their own space, with their own bed, following their own routine — just with a familiar and trusted face looking after them instead of you.
-

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer overnight stays?
Yes — we offer daytime sitting visits and full overnight stays. If you're going away for a night or longer, we can stay at your property overnight so your dog is never left alone. Just let us know what you need and we'll talk through the options.
Will you actually stick to my dog's routine?
Yes — and we take this seriously. We go through the full routine at the meet and greet and follow it as closely as possible. Feeding times, walk times, medications, where they sleep, what furniture they're allowed on — all of it. Routine is what keeps dogs settled when their owner isn't around, and we don't cut corners on it.
What if my dog has medical needs?
Tell us everything at the meet and greet — medications, allergies, conditions, anything we need to be aware of. We're used to dogs with specific requirements. If we think something is beyond what we can safely manage, we'll be straight with you about it.
How do you access the house?
Most customers give us a spare key or set up a key safe. We go through the access arrangement at the meet and greet so it's all sorted in advance and you're comfortable with it before we ever visit without you.
What if my dog is off-lead?
We discuss this at the meet and greet. Off-lead walking is absolutely something we do — we just need to understand your dog's recall and behaviour around other dogs first. We'll never make a decision about lead vs off-lead that we're not comfortable with for your dog's safety.
Are you insured?
Yes — fully insured for pet sitting including public liability and key holding cover.
How much does it cost?
Pricing depends on the length and frequency of visits and whether overnight stays are involved. Get in touch and we'll give you a clear, specific price — no vague estimates.
