Dog Boarding — Bexleyheath
Dog boarding in Bexleyheath
Your dog stays with us — in a proper home in Bexleyheath, not a commercial kennel.
Kennels work for plenty of dogs. But a lot of dog owners — especially those with dogs that are anxious, older, or used to being the only dog in a household — aren't comfortable with the idea of their dog in a commercial boarding facility. The noise, the crates, the unfamiliar environment, other dogs they haven't met. For some dogs, it's fine. For others, it's a stressful few days rather than a comfortable stay.
Our home boarding service in Bexleyheath is the alternative. Your dog doesn't stay in a facility — they stay with us, at our home. They're part of the household for the duration of their stay. They get proper walks every day, company throughout the day, a comfortable place to sleep, and someone who's genuinely looking after them rather than managing a facility full of dogs.

You get to go away knowing your dog is settled, comfortable and cared for — and you hear from us regularly so you don't have to wonder.

How it works
Meet and greet
Before the stay, we meet you and your dog — at your home or ours, whichever works. We go through your dog's full routine, diet, any medical needs, their temperament around other animals, and anything specific we need to know. And your dog gets to meet us in a relaxed setting, which makes the stay itself much smoother.
Drop off
You bring your dog to us — or we can arrange collection. Bring their bed, favourite toys, their food and anything that smells of home. Familiar items help dogs settle in a new environment. We'll show you around and make sure you're comfortable before you leave.
The stay
Your dog is part of the household. Walks when they usually walk, meals when they usually eat, rest when they need it. We treat them the way we'd want our own dog to be treated if someone else was looking after them. Regular updates throughout so you can relax and actually enjoy your time away.
Collection
You pick your dog up at the agreed time. We'll give you a full rundown of how they got on — what they enjoyed, how they slept, how they were with other dogs if applicable, anything worth knowing for next time.

Why ScoopAtroop
Why in-home sitting works better for many dogs
Kennels and boarding facilities work well for some dogs. But for others — particularly dogs that are anxious, elderly, highly bonded to their home environment, or used to being the only dog in a household — a completely new environment can be more stressful than the owner being away.
In-home sitting removes the environmental change entirely. Your dog stays where they feel safe. There are no unfamiliar smells, no strange dogs to navigate, no settling-in period. They're in their own space, with their own bed, following their own routine — just with a familiar and trusted face looking after them instead of you.
-
No travel stress — your dog stays where they feel comfortable
-
No unfamiliar environments or other dogs to manage
-
Existing routine maintained — meals, walks, rest, all as normal
-
Particularly beneficial for anxious, elderly or routine-dependent dogs
-
Your home is also kept an eye on while you're away
-
More personal and attentive than a kennel or boarding facility

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this really a home, not a facility?
Yes. Your dog stays with us at our home in Bexleyheath. It's a domestic house, not a converted commercial space. We keep numbers small so every dog gets proper attention — this isn't a facility running 20 dogs at once, it's someone's home with room for a couple of dogs at most.
How many dogs do you take at once?
We keep it small deliberately. The whole point of home boarding is individual attention and a relaxed environment — that only works if numbers are low. If you have more than one dog, get in touch and we'll discuss whether we can accommodate them together.
Do you need vaccination records?
Yes — we ask all dogs staying with us to be up to date on their core vaccinations. We'll confirm exactly what we need when you get in touch.
What if my dog has medical needs?
Bring it up at the meet and greet. We're used to dogs that need daily medication or have specific care requirements. If we think something is beyond what we can safely manage, we'll tell you clearly rather than take the booking and muddle through.
How much does it cost?
Pricing depends on the length of the stay and the number of dogs. Get in touch and we'll give you a clear price — no vague ranges or surprises at the end of the stay.
